NBHA's Cast Mountain exhibit, the centerpiece of the 2Million2Many awareness campaign, will be on display for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeon's 2013 Annual Meeting, taking place from March 19-23 in Chicago, Illinois.

The meeting is the largest orthopaedic meeting in the world and features the presentation of approximately 300 scientific papers and 180 instructional courses. Registrants attend symposia on a variety of educational topics. The meeting also includes more than 1,200 scientific poster and technical exhibits.

Dayton, Ohio

Speaking of Women’s Health Conference

Cast Mountain will be on display at Speaking of Women's Health® in Dayton, Ohio on Saturday, November 3. SWH is a nationally recognized conference designed to educate women to make informed decisions about their health, well-being and personal safety.

Every year, there are 2 million bone breaks that are no accident but signs of osteoporosis. The 2Million2Many campaign’s "Cast Mountain" is a 12-foot tall by 12-foot wide installation which represents the 5,500 bone breaks due to osteoporosis that occur in the US every day. As part of the campaign, this jarring display is touring the country at various health professional and public events.

Fifth Annual Delaware Orthopaedic Symposium

Cast Mountain will be on display at the 5th Annual Delaware Orthopaedic Symposium in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday, October 27

Minneapolis, Minnesota

ASBMR 2012 Annual Meeting

2Million2Many's Cast Mountain will be on display in Minneapolis, Minnesota from October 11-15 during events surrounding the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) annual meeting:

October 11: International Osteoporosis Foundation press conference promoting World Osteoporosis Day 2012 (October 20)

October 13: American Bone Health Walk Tall for Life and Bone Health Awareness Walk, Southdale Shopping Center, Edina, MN

October 14-15: ASBMR Discovery Hall - Attracting more than 5,000 attendees from 60 countries, the ASBMR annual meeting is an excellent opportunity to reach and educate the bone and mineral scientific community on the importance of the campaign and its simple calls to action for the public and healthcare professional communities alike.

Santa Fe, New Mexico

Santa Fe Bone Symposium

Cast Mountain was on display at the Santa Fe Bone Symposium in New Mexico on August 10 and 11.

Susan Randall from NBHA founding member, National Osteoporosis Fundation, spoke about the campaign and a panel of health professionals discussed how symposium participants could promote and implement the campaign in their communities.

Washington, DC

2Million2Many: An Osteoporosis Educational Summit

In Celebration of National Women’s Health Week 2012 and National Osteoporosis Month, National Bone Health Alliance (NBHA) hosted 2Million2Many: An Osteoporosis Educational Summit at the Kaiser Permanente Center for Total Health on May 15.

Attendees had the opportunity to hear directly from the nation's leading osteoporosis and bone health experts and learn about NBHA's current initiative to prevent secondary fractures through the fracture liaison service model of care. With Cast Mountain in the background serving as a visual representation of the number of bone breaks that occur in the US every day, NBHA also debuted 2Million2Many, a national awareness campaign which highlights the two million bone breaks that occur each year that are no accident but signs on osteoporosis and will advance NBHA’s 20/20 vision to reduce the rate of fractures 20 percent by the year 2020. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the connection between broken bones and osteoporosis by issuing a simple and clear call to action to request a test for osteoporosis if you or someone you know is 50 or older and breaks a bone.

Join us in spreading the word that the two million bone breaks occurring each year are no accident, but signs of osteoporosis and that 2 Million is 2 Many.

Orlando, Florida

International Symposium on Osteoporosis (ISO12)

The 2Million2Many campaign will debut at ISO12 – the premier scientific meeting dedicated entirely to the treatment and study of osteoporosis. Both healthcare professionals and consumer attendees will have an opportunity to observe the cast installation first-hand and learn how they can get involved in the campaign through the following events:

  • April 25: NOF’s Healthy Bones, Build Them For Life® Consumer and Patient Forum will feature the campaign and consumer reactions to the cast installation
  • April 27: ”Breakfast with the Experts” panel and 2Million2Many campaign launch to healthcare professionals
